Can I obtain the primary residence assessment if I lease my home?
No. Leased property cannot qualify as a primary residence for property tax purposes because it is not owned by the occupant. Likewise, property leased with an option to purchase does not qualify as a primary residence until the occupant exercises the option to purchase.
